BBM Headquarters

The Boys’ Brigade in Malaysia’s Headquarters was set up in 1989. The first full-time-worker employed was Mr Lawrence Tay.

Initially, the BBM Headquarters was just a small room in behind the Council of Churches (CCM) office in Jalan Universiti, Petaling Jaya (opposite University Hospital). After one year, the small room was just not enough to house the ever growing BB. Hence in 1990, BBM Headquarters moved to Wisma Methodist in Kuala Lumpur (in KL city centre near Pudu Raya). The office space was double the size compared to the first but soon that too could not cater to the needs as the BBM HQ employed their second full-time-worker, Mr SA Ravindren in 1991.

In 1992, the BBM HQ moved again, this time to Jalan Tun Sambanthan, Brickfields (now opposite KL Sentral), occupying the entire second floor of a 4 story building. By now, there were another additional part time staff, Mr Jonathan Soo handling the accounts.

The year 1994 saw a milestone in BBM History when BBM HQ finally has its own property and call it their home at 5 Jalan Anak Gasing (6/5), Petaling Jaya. This single story semi-detached property is situated in a quiet but accessible Petaling Jaya area.

Many have served as part or full-time staff since 1989.
